One of our textile dyeing customers needed to improve the combustion stability of a 6 t/h natural gas industrial boiler used to supply heat and steam for dyeing vats and fabric-setting processes.
The boiler load changed considerably throughout the production schedule. During daytime production, the system operated under high load, while at night it ran at a lower load to maintain process temperature. The existing burner performed poorly under low-load conditions, resulting in unstable combustion and visible yellow smoke.
Fluctuations in the incoming gas pressure were another concern. These changes could trigger burner faults and unexpected boiler shutdowns, affecting the continuity of the dyeing process.
After reviewing the boiler capacity and operating requirements, we selected a Baltur TBG210P gas burner and configured it with a Dungs MB-VEF 412 B01 S30 gas valve assembly, Honeywell pressure switches, and flame detection components.
The Dungs gas valve assembly combined gas pressure regulation, filtration, and safety shut-off functions. Pressure and flame monitoring were integrated into the combustion safety system so that the gas supply could be shut off when abnormal operating conditions were detected.
During on-site commissioning, we adjusted the air-fuel settings for both high- and low-load operation, with particular attention to combustion stability during the plant's lower nighttime demand.
After commissioning, combustion remained stable under both operating conditions, and the yellow smoke previously observed at low load was eliminated during normal operation. The boiler also stopped experiencing the previous unnecessary shutdowns associated with gas pressure fluctuations, helping maintain continuous production.
According to the project record, overall gas consumption was approximately 10% lower than with the previous burner system. The upgraded system met the required emission limits, while the equipment maintained a low fault rate during year-round operation.
The upgraded industrial gas burner system now supports the customer's changing production schedule with more stable combustion, lower gas consumption, and fewer operating interruptions.
